Hello all! My name is Susan and I was introduced to the Jeep community by my husband, Matt, when he bought his 2021 JL Sport in October 2021. He has owned Jeeps in the past for his daily and for offroading and was excited to own another one. For the past 16 years, I thought German cars were my niche having owned a VW and a BMW. I was so wrong! I loved my husband's Jeep and got my first Jeep in April 2022 - a 2022 JLU Rubicon.
Matt's JL is called Barbie since Barbie has all the accessories! Barbie is Jeep we will do a real build on. We've started to get it trail ready this year. He started with a Barricade front bumper and Badland 12K winch and just added 35" MT Baja Boss tires, 18" Mammoth wheels, and a 3.5" inch Teraflex lift. Next up will be a re-gear since Barbie has lost some of her spunk with the bigger tires. He's very proud that she is a 2-door and has a manual transmission!
We decided on a JLU Rubicon for me so we had something trail ready at the get-go and more room for cargo. I decided to call her Buffy the Trail Slayer, a play on the title of my favorite TV show. Our dog, Loki, has claimed the back passenger seat as his own. Loki loves riding around Delware County, PA, hanging out the window in his signature RexSpecs goggles to protect his eyes from road and trail debris. He draws a lot of attention and is constantly getting his picture taken!
We have big plans for Barbie and Buffy and both are an investment in our travel plans for years to come. We can't wait to stay local and off-road at Rausch Creek, AOAA and other trails. Our ultimate goal is to build our off-road skills and travel out to Moab, UT to do the Top of the World trail. The first time I saw the many beautiful and awe-inspiring photos from the Jeep community, I knew it was something I absolutely had to do.
